Ernehale Lodge
Care Home

Arnold, Nottingham

Ernehale Lodge is a purpose built home, lovingly decorated with a homely touch. You’ll find us in the midst of the Arnold community within easy reach of shops and other local amenities.

Our over-riding aim is to ensure that all our residents are not only well looked after, but feel valued and cared for in every respect. To achieve that, our nurses and carers work side by side to meet the individual needs of the people who live here.

We are very proud of our reputation for excellent care. In October 2009 we won the Central England Yours Caring Home of the Year Award, the visiting judges noting that “the staff give one-to-one care and spend as much time with individual residents as they can”.

They also remarked on some of the residents’ involvement with growing our tomatoes and flowers – an activity that brings much pleasure to those with green fingers! For more relaxed moments, we have created a sensory patio garden with water feature, wind chimes, a bird table and ornaments.

We like to encourage residents to take part in a range of absorbing activities such as baking, Music for Health workshops, maybe a river cruise on the Trent or a Father’s day ‘table top football championship.’ Always popular is our ‘Armchair Wimbledon’ followed by fresh, home-baked clotted cream scones with strawberries and a glass of bubbly.

“As soon as my Mother entered Ernehale she improved out of all recognition. I really felt that their stimuli helped her to regain some of the ability to converse. I am quite sure the care of your staff added many months to my Mother’s life and it was so nice to see her final years happy ones”.

“The love and care has exceeded all expectations that no one else can know. Again I cannot stress enough the care and attention you have given to me and my family, which we are extremely grateful for. With heartfelt thanks.”

“We were staggered at the high standard of care he received from the management, nurses and carers at Ernehale. He was able to retain his dignity and the staff tendered to his every need with devotion and great skill. When we left Ernehale each day we rested in the knowledge that he was safe and was being well cared for.”

“Nothing was too much trouble for anyone at your home. Whenever I or anyone came to visit mum at Ernehale we were always made most welcome, being offered refreshments or the opportunity to stay with mum through mealtimes.”

“No amount of words can express how grateful we are for the way she was cared for and everything you did for our wife/mum while she was in your care. She was always looked after magnificently.”

Other stimulating activities include bingo, dominoes, talking books, craft sessions, knitting, visits to the park to feed the ducks and in-house church services.

Whatever their role, our staff pride themselves on attending to our residents’ comfort and well-being during their stay with us, whether that’s just for a short while or for longer.
